Welcome to Natural Mountain Living!
Homemade Kitchen ~ Simple Living ~ Homeschooling with Heart
My husband and I were naturally drawn to living a simple life when we first started dating in 2008. Now, married with two littles, I recently left my job as a public school teacher in 2021 after 14 years teaching early elementary school to homeschool and raise our children closer to the earth while running our first business, Mountain Mom Studio.
We live and run our businesses out of our 1,000 square foot home nestled in the mountains of Maine where down time is spent skiing, hiking, camping, rafting, gardening, reading, and cooking both indoors and out. Of course, the occasional home DIY, two little ones, a couple pets, and the routine of everyday life keeps us busy but making intentional choices to live at a slightly slower pace than our world seems to demand brings many blessings.
Natural Mountain Living is a supportive environment featuring easy ways to adopt simple living habits and incorporate nourishing and scrumptious homemade recipes into your home as well as homeschooling with heart should that be your chosen path! Be sure to check out our shop link to Mountain Mom Studio’s featured eco-friendly and educational products as well!
A Few Fun Facts About Me
I guided whitewater rafts on Maine’s class IV and V rivers during college and my early teaching years. This is actually how my husband and I met back in 2006!
I broke my back during a landing as a solo skydiver in 2010.
We lived without internet or reliable cell phone service until I started Mountain Mom Studio in 2019. I completed my online Masters Degree sitting in the town library parking lot so I could use their internet!
A delicious cup of hot coffee… especially a homemade latte… will make my day.
My husband and I rafted 226 miles of the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon with 14 of our friends in 2017. We hope to bring our children on this journey some day.
I never saw myself as a homeschool mom but now I would not have it any other way!
